New Year's Wishes for 2011

I wish I may,
I wish I might,
Have this wish
HAPPY NEW YEAR HAMBURG
I wish tonight
  1. Bring back the Gifted and Talented program
  2. Introduce financial responsibility. (no brainer)
  3. Stop giving administrators raises for doing NOTHING.
  4. Respect the taxpayer and the fundamental concept that they work very hard and are unfairly penalized by paying taxes to raise administrators' salaries
  5. Consider new sources of income, like supporting Mr. Best in his advocation to tax the myriad of taxable deliverables (currently not taxed) that happen on that large swatch of land smack dab in the middle of the district.
  6. Follow open meetings laws; not just say the law is followed, but do it!
  7. Address the grade fraud.
  8. Keep tax dollars in Hamburg, stop sending hundreds of thousands to BOCES and OZ.
  9. Post Board of Education  meeting minutes online, not the deceptive Board Briefings!!
  10. No more RSB (Rubber Stamp Board),
  11. Increase public participation instead of shutting the public down!
  12. Board, be true to your role as public servants.

Who wants higher taxes? I'm pretty sure it clearly states on this blog that the author wants their taxes lowered. Did you read the posting taxes, taxes, taxes?

Woah who's the stalker?

Hey anonymous stalker, are you lurking in the shadows? Answer the great unknown, where is intelligence central of the blog and who is deep throat?

Concerned: I am surprised the Hamburg KGB hasnt poisoned your New Year's champagne. Last year I was harrassed by kids on the internet, and Crawford told me there was nothing they could do. And then I had to teach these kids everyday, it was horrible. The public assumes that the kids are so innocent, and by and large they are. But some of the top kids are the most gifted of all cheaters. Most are wonderful and true to their souls! Many would rather cheat, lie and blame others than to admit they dont work. They copied US Government Homework in my class, I called them out and told theAP teacher. I saw the copying....it all happened.

Follow the actions of nearby boards of education like Orchard Park and Frontier and Lake Shore. People who read this blog, who work for the school district and who are recent graduates of Hamburg Central should attend OTHER board meetings to see how they run things.

New Years Wishes for 2011:

1.) Teach people that what you read on an idiotic blog doesn't have to be immediately accepted as truth.
2.) Learn the identity of Concerned Hamburger.
3.) Get every side of the grade fraud story into circulation, rather than watching people eat up lies.

Concerned Parent, you got that right. lets go to county wide schools and get rid of all the top dead weight. Call Kevin Gaughan...he's got it right!!!!

Mr Best you are the best!!!! It is a great idea to tax the proceeds of the Hamburg Agricultural Society, NYS Gaming, The Fair and all the other tax free folly that takes place on the Fair Grounds. Here is an example of Hamburg taxpayers being asleep. Do they realise if they taxed the activites at Fairgrounds, their property taxes would go down? Its basic math!!! Even I can figure that out, and I am just a tiny visitor.

Mr. Best has it right so I am hopeful he runs for the Hamburg School Board in May. In fact, how about Mr. Best and Bob Reynolds running as the HTA-endorsed candidates? What say you Best and Reynolds???

Linda,

Ummmm, you do realize that one of the people you reference was on the RSB, when the 1.8 mil went missing and is no friend to the teachers? It will be a tough road for him if he decided to come back.

Concerned Hamburg,
Your new super is paid $170,000 per year, gets 25 vacation days, can cash in 5 per year at his daily rate, can roll over 5 days for a max of 35 days of vacation, he gets all the holidays (inc. day before thanksgiving) PLUS 3 additional holidays at his liking, 20 sick days,( he can use 20 sick days for his family illlness, including spouse and/or "significant other"), and 5 personal days. 5 bereavement days, Erie Boces health care contributing 15%, and a health care card (105 h) with a credit of $1,000 per year. Not a bad deal for someone who was asked to leave his last few gigs....

Greece,

WHAT!!!!????? Thanks for the info...we are paying this new guy $9,000 more than Crawford? OMG, sign me up to be a superintendent...I missed the boat. My grandfather told me to become a school teacher and administrator seems like they are off more than they are on. Oh well, guess I will just have to enjoy my two weeks paid vacation every year that I worked 7 years to get....see ya on the golf course..

Hey Hamburg Teachers, The best thing you did was get rid of your Union President. Everyone around the teachers' union world knows he did nothing for you all...he would come out to our conferences, and NEVER go to sessions. Hamburg Teachers were the joke of the town. Whatever is going on there now is a long time in brewing.....I understand the old pres is more active know than he was when he was collecting one of the largest stipends in NYSUT. hang in there, you can only move forward.....

wow its amazing info

The only blame is the school board. People keep electing hand picked relitives of school employees, union backed hacks, town employees and elite status seeking individuales who need another line item on their resume',not the silent majority-tax paying home owners.
I applaud all hard working teachers and administration they deserve every penny they can negotiate. The school board has to approve it. Who's to blame? The school board.
We are at the point in WNY were the population/ tax base is moving away, populations are schrinking, will the last person turn the lights off please.
