achramo retirement? said...

congratulation Enjoy your humor and great lead stories. Please investigate what is going on with Achramo and his status with his retirement. I would like more information on the selection process for supt. I am aware that it was narrowed down to 5 from a field of 20+. I was also told that he wasn't the best candidate for supt. What gives here?

Hamburg School Board own your sh@t and quit putting our money where your mouth is
I don't know what I find more upsetting . The fact the Hamburg school Board was found guilty of breaking Open Meeting Laws or that Local News, such as the Hamburg Sun or local Television Media is not covering the story . The President of the school Board who made sure she addresses (via a letter) the local community about the issue when the charges were filed stated "executive sessions are in compliance with the open meeting laws " has yet to write a formal apology to the community or Resign form the School Board, something she should do for letting this to happen in the first place. I do not think this is asking too much .She and the other members of the school board have forgotten that the school board is the employer of the superintendent and not his employee . Relying on his " vast legal skills " is asinine. I don't recall seeing law school or practicing law on his list of accomplishments. Allowing him to take the wrap for their illegal activities shows there lack of intestinal fortitude, as if all of them sitting mute and allowing him to walk all over them in meeting isn't enough . Just think of the thousands of dollars they have paid to Harris Beach over this matter. And who is left to flip the bill?, Us the Taxpayers, over something that could have been fixed by just picking up the phone and calling Robert J Freeman or getting a copy of "School Law,33 edition " from The New York State School Board Association.

President Dr.Calkins resign from the school Board Now

In the days of every phone having a camera, why would anyone go around the village destroying holly and sally signs, but drive and walk by Flynn signs. Guess that's for the police to sort out.

Super,

I was a bit surprised when I logged onto the Hamburg Central
Schools website today and the first item, front and center, was the district's obviously biased statement about the "Recent Court Decision Ruling" and how the RSB was "foisted" into court and compelled to testify about their actions. With all of the positive things the teachers and students are doing in the district, is this the first thing the district wants people to see on the Hamburg Central Schools homepage??? Is this the best representation of Hamburg Schools that can be offered to the community??? Bad judgment call if you ask me. Keep the school board politics off the Homepage and highlight the many good things that are being done. I am actually thoroughly discusted.

Super
spot on, this is Achramovitch and the Board's spin in a feeble attempt to hurt Mrs. S election. They must be desperate.
This is the lowest I have seen the board go ever. I'm beginning to question the Board Pres. now myself.

I feel bad for Kelly Harper and Diane Reynolds they are treated as outsiders by this board. Kelly Harper should be Board President. Her backround is in Education, Phd in Ed. .actually. Just a thought.

sociopathic possible said...

Achramovitch is dragging Dr. Joan Calkins down with him. Dr Calkins cut him loose and please stop succumbing to his charming ways. Many believe here in the dist. that he has sociopathic tendancies.

stop him said...

Hey school board you better get a handle on this Supt. real fast. He is treading into dangerous waters now.
You, have got to stop him, he is leading us into serious trouble now. Electioning with district finances. I call all your judgement into question now.

Close the door on secrecy

Hamburg School Board gets message, ends practice of illegal private meetings

How in the world did a citizen's complaint over school violations of the Open Meetings Law ever make it all the way from a threat to sue to an actual court proceeding to a court ruling? Was there not even one responsible public official in the Hamburg Central School District who understood the law and the responsibility to be accoundable to the public? Couldn't somebody have just told Sally Stephenson, "you know, you're right. We'll stop breaking the law."

" Evidently , no. Stephenson sued and the school district didn't relent. Ultimately, Supreme Justice Diane Y. Devlin ruled for Stephenson and even ordered the district to pay her attorneys fees-and appropirately so"..
It simply is abuse of power. I understand that they are still have secret sessions. Kelly Harper and Diane Reynolds please stop this and learn to speak out. We need your voice.

achramo we are on to you said...

Achramovitch,
you can run but you cannot hide from us. You are dragging this entire school board down with you. Start packing, you cannot cause them any more embarrassment.
Poor decision making is causing us great concern.

OMG. Did Mrs. Stephenson really say that cutting music would be like cutting your right arm off. How embarrasing that must have been with Mr Klump there.

80,000 PAGE VIEWS, not readers. Totally different. Very misleading, "Concerned". It makes me wonder about your ability to discuss school finances, if you're willing to be this misleading about the blog numbers.

hans christian anderson said...

How do you know that its not 80K readers???? Concerned has not mislead anyone. In fact, I marvel at this team or individuals facts. Not one thing on this blog written by Concerned is misrepresented. Some of the comments(not written by the concerned people) are off, but concerned should get the blog of the year award. I cant wait till they hone in on the butcher the baker and the candlestick maker.

"Hans":
"Page Views" are just that, a view of a web page. Every time you look at a different topic on this blog, you open a new page and the pageview count goes up. Average pageviews per reader visit on blogs can range from 1.5 to 5. I don't know what the pageview per visit or visits per person counts are for this blog, but I've accounted for about 20 pageviews of this blog just today, and I'm not 20 readers! One person could easily account for 100 pageviews a week, if they're reading a lot of pages every day. So saying this blog has 80,000 readers when it has 80,000 pageviews is misleading.

Who cares, how petty. I enjoy the blog and I would say to anyone that has an issue with it don't tune in.

Dr Calkins, spoke to one of Mrs. Stephenson's inlaws whose child is a patient of hers and directly told her not to vote for Sally S. or Holly B.That "Mrs. S has a law suit against her". I inquired to find out if there is or was any law suit against her. I was told that there isn't any law suit or monetary issue but procedural issues with New York State Ed. dept. What great lengths the old guard will go to to misrepresent the facts. I agree to that the school district is going too far with their electioneering with our tax dollars. I now know that Flynn is their hand picked candidate. My friend took down the Flynn sign after she found out the facts.

Why knock this blog? No one is twisting your arm to come to this site. Let's face it we don't like being kept out of the loop and this site has it together. Some comments are a bit crazy some are extremely worth while. Concerned group opens up our eyes and has their facts straight. I know if I don't like a site I don't go on it.

Oh, my, it is to laugh. When someone points out a misleading statement on the blog, they're told "how petty", "don't tune in", and "no one is twisting your arm to come to this site". So, in your collective minds, it's OK for this blog to mislead the public, and someone who points out the misleading facts is told to shut up and go away. How hypocritical!

There must be a Rx for your problem said...

Hey Anonymous 6:15....you are angry and need a RX or Counseling, or anger management classes. Hypocrites? the queen of that is Dr. Calkins.

Smoke and Mirrors, I hear you are running for HTA President...thats great. Maybe you can work with the district to keep the drug problem in secrecy. Remember, so many of those kids on drugs hang in your office, bc they are so strung out and cant make it to class. Speaking of class, do you have any? Great role model...Peace Man.

Steve, Get your resume ready....I heard Willliamsville is hiring. They are in the finalist stage, but you can get your buddie O'Donnie Boy to recommend your extensive legal advice and now you can add "expert on open meeting laws" to your c.v. I think the writing is on the wall.
