Meet your New Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Technology?

At the August 16, 2011 RSB meeting Achramo introduced to Hamburg the new Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Technology [click here for Board Briefing].  Dr. Jetter certainly has a remarkable academic background, and a vast understanding of testing.
Testing?
Yes, Testing.
Human Resources and Personnel, No
Computers, No
Technology, No

Dr. Jetter is an elementary school principal, with no experience in either Human Resources or Technology.  Please see Dr. Jetter's resume as it appears on the North Tonawanda website [click here].  Does this scenario sound familiar?  Let us go back to 2005, the last time an elementary school principal was shuffled into the HR job.  Recall, a certain, Mr. G. Kerr?  When reviewing Dr. Jetter's experience, please note his experience in Ken-Ton when Achramovitch was Superintendent.  With approximately 10% unemployment perhaps a candidate with matching skills could have been discovered?

Although Dr. Jetter does not have the experience or qualifications to be an Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Technology, he does seem perfect for the job recently vacated by Maryellen Monafo.  In an era of high stakes testing and evaluating teachers based on student test results, Dr. Jetter has done his research.  For insight into Dr. Jetter's position on testing, please read a recent editorial that appeared in an edition of The Buffalo News, "Richard E. Jetter: Testing, in the end, is about evaluating human worth" [click here for editorial].  So in the end, will the human worth of a teacher now come down to what a child earns on a test?

Good news teachers, your human worth will never be recorded below a *50

He spewed the same human worth rhetoric on the NYS school board's website

Concerned,
what is the relationship to Achramovitch? This could be interesting. I also have heard that Achramovitch was instramental in Maryellen leaving.

St Pete and Paul Mom said...

He's got more education than Steve. Maybe he should be superintendent rather than superintendent puppet. He is a curriculum guy, not an HR person....but perhaps that is what harris beach et al get all the money for. Hey concerned, ya know that big US Debt clock in Times Square? If not google it. You should do a Harris Beach Clock on this site so we can all see our tax payer dollars squandered. Try to set this up Concerned. Thanks for your insight....

Why hire a qualified candidate? The district only needs to call their Geneseo College cheerleader that sits at Steveos feet and pretends to practice law.

I know this is off topic but I had to get this out for other parents If I work longer than 5 ½ hours .I get a lunch break by law, yet my Hamburg High School freshmen can go to school for longer than 5 hours and the district is not required to give him a lunch break every day. How can this be legal? I know what you are thinking .It’s a typo or some kind of mistake …It’s not this just shocked me (although at this point with OUR district nothing should shock me) that the district would first not make sure every child no matter what grade they are getting a lunch break. I mean we as parents know how much a healthy breakfast can help a child get through the day but the kids have to eat lunch and recharge too. Second we are talking about a disabled child. Third if the teachers in the district were told that they didn’t get a lunch or had to eat lunch while they teach a class they would be filing lawsuit. So why has no parent said anything.

Pleasant Ave Parent said...

Super, All students must have time allocated during the day to eat lunch. My guess is the nitwits at the guidance office in the hhs, dont know this. Arent they the same ones who said its ok for kids to fail? Children need to eat during the day...they can not function otherwise. I bet the super nice ladies in the lunch room would help you out. Call the lady in charge of food service.

Super said...

@Pleasant Ave Parent, I was thinking the same thing so I asked a school employee that lives on my street. Her son graduated last year, she said her son had the same issue his freshmen year. She thought he was joking when he told her that he didn’t get a lunch break. So after speaking to the school she was told to pack him a lunch he could eat in class on the days he didn’t have a lunch break. I feel every kid should get that lunch Break where they can sit and eat and chat with friends and recharge. As of now the day that my son is not getting a lunch break he will be in a biology lab, who in the hell wants to eat school lunch or a home packed lunch while they are dissecting something. Again how is it that in New York the law tells us a meal break is required if you are working more than 5 hours. But school children are not required by law to get a lunch break… something is fishy

Anonymous said...

Unless your son is taking an extra class, he should have time for lunch. Even with a bio lab, he has time. If I had to eat during a biology disection, I would have died of starvation. The HHS should split the lunch periods like they do at HMS. Make the kids read for 20 minutes before or after their meals. No kid wants to eat in class....and some teachers do not allow it.

Super
like everything that Achramo doesn't know how to handle he will ANALYZE IT. This is when he doesn't know what the hell he is doing but collecting a big fat pay check on our backs.

Anonymous said...

Lunch, for kids who want to take extra classes, is a waste of time. Just like gym class is a waste of time for kids who play school sports. There's nothing illegal about a student choosing to learn more instead of vegging at lunch.

Anonymous said...

Imagine sitting by yourself and getting bullied for the 45 minute period.

Super said...

My son is not taking any extra classes/early release for work. He is a incoming 9th grader who is disabled and needs that time to eat and recharge for the rest of the day. On the days when he does get lunch it will be 7 hours from the time he had breakfast.keep in mind his school day with bus his bus ride is just short of 10 hours .

Tom Buerle is attacking the supply list that teachers make. He is so spot on. Paper, pens and pencils will do the job.

Anonymous said...

Super,
you better have a talk with guidance, forget the Supervisor, he doesn't give a hoot about your kid or mine.

Guidance at the High School. Thats pretty messed up. Only one or two of them have a clue what they are doing.

Jetter for Superintendant, get rid of this shameless Supt. New decent young people who haven't been corrupted by the system. Erie 1 BOCES in the know. Just a thought

Super said...

it's true and its the same hippy counselor who said "it's OK if kids fail in fact the system is set up for them to fail and still graduate " at the 1st freshman orientation back in January of 2011

LOTE teacher said...

True, the hippy is also the Teachers union president. He was the mayor of North Collins and left the high school everyday to play mayor. He is one of those people who give teachers a bad name...if you dont believe this stop by the high school and meet the man and check out his disgrace of an office.

Anonymous said...

Funny. "One of those people who gives teachers a bad name." I don't know of any student in the High School that has ever had anything bad to say about him. Maybe because he's not like most people in that building: boring, dry, and uptight.

Been there, done that. said...

Anonymous, 3:20, you are calling the teachers in the HHS boring, dry and uptight? The union president is aself-righteous pompous arse. He has no business guiding children. He tried to get my one son to drop out of HHS, and now my son is in his final year of college thanks to the "boring, dry and uptight" teachers who kicked his must deserved rear-end into place. Have you ever looked at him...or tried to comprehend his babble? I was at the NYSUT conference for the last few days as a rep. I almost had a heart attack when I was told he was the president of the teachers. I was embarrassed that my school taxes pay for the likes of him and some of the others from Hamburg who were there. sorry some people ought not be in a position to influence children. From a parent who was there.

Thank God, my kids are in college and beyond.

Anonymous said...

How did he become president of the teacher's union? Appointed or voted in by the teachers he represents? Please elaborate.

two doors down. said...

3:20...No student in the HIGH school has ever said anything bad about Mrozek? So, you have polled all 1200 kids? Did you ever talk to the staff? Ask one of his co-guidance counselors or the ladies in in his office. They may do a collective "eye roll".

Anonymous said...

No one has answered my question. How did Mrozek become President?

elementary teacher said...

Well theres a scandal. Dont ya know the HTA makes up votes. They did it under clifford when he would not allow certain people to vote. And now, they were making additional copies of the ballot, and the ladies who went around asking people to vote would tell them who ti vote for, check the ballot and if the newbies werent on it they wrote out a new paper ballot. They were like thugs in my building.

Some members of the HTA were terrified that the Adminstration was being held accountable, the HTA members were affraid their dirty secrets would come out. So they planned to go back to the clifford days with dumb and friends trying to run the union.

I stay out of the union business, but I was paying attending to this past election and the fraud that went on someone should blow the whistle. Frankly, I dont know anyone who voted for Mrozek. We all talked about this the day the results came out. It had to be fraud. Plain and Simple. Frankly, we teachers should take a wage freeze to bring back out friends who were laid off...and Mr. Achramovitch should lead the path by cutting his pay. I heard the new Administrators are earning what gordon kerr and maryellen made. Is this true? The greed is shameful.

Shameful said...

Yes you are right the greed is shameful. This new Superintendant now makes more $$ than our Governor Andrew Cuomo. Go figure how this school board can justify that amount of money. Look at his past disgraceful records in Ken/Ton and Greece. What the hell was going on when he was the best out of 20 candidates for our Supt?

Anonymous said...

Our Union will make nice nice with Achramo and administration until we get the pink slipsthan we are screwed. Just wait the aministrators are getting huge pay increases while adding more administrators while laying us off. More administrators with huge salaries and less teachers. This makes a lot of sense since our rankings are falling. Oh ya the rankings in Greece while achrmo was Supt. fell drastically.

John M better not try to play games with the superintendent. I have worked with him at the high school for years. He is the laziest person on the payroll. Corner cutter and blow hard. Who voted for him??? I thought Kathy was doing the best job that has ever been done. Thank our lucky stars she ran cliff out of town. He worked a 1/2 day and collect a full pay check. HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A FRAUD. WHY CANT WE AUDIT THE PAYROLL RECORDS FOR CLIFF'S SECRET DEAL? John you are being watched.

Here is a story Hamburg ethics readers. I just had my 16 year old son out for the first time since he had his permit to drive. We live off of Jewett Holmwood in OP, NY. We were cautiously driving ( he was cautious, I was a nervious dad). As we were turning left on to JH, a brown ford explorer with a giant wooden canoe (the size of the pinta, nina and santa maria all together) was driving erratically and almost t-boned our ford taurus. The explorer approached the turn at no less than 50 miles per hour. And as it slowed down to erratically correct what could have been an accident. The driver was Mark Crawford, former super of hamburg and now in west seneca. My wife was up by our house and recorded the same vehicle with the same canoe driving almost 50 thru a private residential area. I know Mark from Nardin, he was erratic then, and clearly his driving suggest the same. My sister in law is in Hamburg and records the insane things he did before leaving the district high and drive. Watch out Mark....your driving will catch up to you.

JOHN WAS ELECTED BY THE BLOCK VOTE AT ARMOR. BLAME THEM WHEN HE CANNOT DELIVER.

Where in the HTA contract does it read that staff will be required to attend an opening day at HHS? I within walking distance of my elementary school. I have to drive to HHS tomorrow...are they going to pay me for my mileage? This sucks. The ladies here told us to vote for this new union leadership, and they have already screwed me. And, my friends at the high school have open house this week. Where is that in the contract? I bet we wont get paid for any of this work.

Anonymous said...

I rest my case. You teachers voted him to represent you. It's your own fault. Nothing but excuses and name games from everyone.

Anonymous said...

What a shame that the only board member with any background in education felt the need to resign. What a shame; she should have been running the board. Kelly Harper, I wish your voice was heard.

I heard that the laid off teachers were told they could not sub b/c they were not needed. Is this true? As a parent if my child's teacher needed to be out I would hope to have an "expert" filling I'n.

You are either not an employee of Hamburg or extremely stupid and unaware. That check you received last Fri 9/2 was for the 3 staff development days you were supposed to attend. Pampered Hamburg 10-monthers wined to get that check years ago because they couldn’t possibly wait until you actually work two weeks to get paid. Are you kidding about mileage with your hour and a half lunch those days? You are too inept to realize how good you have it in a school district. Try working in the private sector!

How many more kids are we as a community willing to let go. The Hamburg Village Police and the Hamburg Central Schools have to say no to drugs. Mr. Gallagher u should be ashamed of yourself. We know some of the guidance counselors are on drugs and alcohol, and dont work to protect the kids. This must stop....and the police need to get their heads out of the sand. This will all come to the surface. Drugs are a problem at HHS.

class of 2011 said...

I was a student in Hamburg and graduated in June. Any day of the week, I or anyone else could go out into the halls and approach the runners and get any drug I wanted, mostly prescriptions. Some of the druggies in our class stole money to buy drugs and Some of the kid broke into houses of old people and stole pain killers and sold them in the halls. We all know who they are and what they were doing. I think they are losers and jerks, because they were the same kids that never came to class and some where out of school and had to have teachers go to their houses to teach them. A few boys stole a police car and drove around pulling people over and then thru guns out in Chestridge park. The guns were stolen. They guys were on drugs, and nothing was done. NOTHING. I worked hard and am away at college away from HHS, and couldnt be happier. I can say that the principals did NOTHING. I know this for a fact. The kids would skip class sit in their counselors office or go sleep off their high in the nurses office. The nurses office a HHS is a joke. Some of the druggies hid their drugs in there in case someone checked their lockers. The drug dogs came in a few years ago, but everyone knew it. Just wait to one of these kids do something really bad. My parents live in the village and asked a policeman what they do about drugs and they were told there are no drugs. What a joke. Frontier's drug problem is a drop in the bucket compared to Hamburg. And when the kids do get in trouble, everyone knows the village judge lets you off, because he doenst what the problem out there. I know this my friend was in front of him and he said it, and she was only their for a speeding ticket. Wake Up, its only a matter of time before someone gets really hurt or dies.

Jetter for Super? Do you really know what he did in North Tonawanda? Politician at his finest. If you want someone who steps on toes, bends and makes up truths and is an all around snake, you got em!

oops, didn't know I needed blog approval to post. Do your research and you'll find out the truth about Dr. Jetter...great in you face, snake behind your back. He will destroy all those he comes in contact with.

Discussing the two individuals that stole the guns and impersonated police officers should not be allowed. This incident happened after both of them graduated from HHS. There was nothing administration could have done anyway, both individuals were no longer enrolled in school at Hamburg.

Anonymous said...

The boys were in hamburg when they broke into a dea officiers house stole guns, stole a village cop car and pulled over citizens. Shameful behavior. Guess what, they got a slap on the hands from the local justice system.

Jetter plays games and will do whatever it takes to make himself look good. With him it is all about self-promotion. He is aggressive in trying to get a promotion but will RUN when he gets his reputation tarnished. A law suit started by parents against Jetter's lies was started in NT and he ran because he was concerned it would interfere with his self-promotion. He spent most of his time in NT working on his Phd., not being a principal! Slicky Ricky....be very careful please!
