Lake Shore Schools Take the Drug Problem Seriously

The following came to Concerned from two members of the Hamburg community,

"Dear Hamburg Central Schools, and Village of Hamburg local law enforcement,

Why do we never read about Hamburg High School and the drug problem that exists?  Why do Hamburg students who are caught with drugs get a special version of the law?  Why doesn't the local law enforcement in Hamburg arrest and press charges against Hamburg students when they are caught with illegal drugs and controlled substances in the High School?  Why are local Hamburg Village police on record in saying that the drug problem is dealt with internally at the High School.  Why does the administration harass teachers for reporting drug abuse to the police?

Questions must be asked about the local village of Hamburg authorities and their distorted relationship with the High School Administration.  As the adults attempt to hide the drug problem, and attack those who report it, the children and young adults in our community suffer from drug addiction.

Here is what happens in a community that truly cares more about kids than property values and quaint village images."

Students charged after pills found at school [click here for story]

At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, Town of Evans Police charged two Lake Shore students in connection with possession of three Adderall pills.

According to police, a 17-year-old male brought the three pills to give to a 16-year-old who allegedly was going to crush them and snort them.

Adderall is a combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine used for controlling the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.

The two suspects were found with the alleged Adderall. The 17-year-old was charged with felony fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The 16-year-old was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Officer Douglas Tubinis, assigned to work with the school, did the complete investigation.

This was a 14 year old with pot at the high school. Friend of Principals daughter. When is this district going to take this issue seriously. The new drug of choice is pot and prescription pills.

As a village resident and one who is aware that the break ins in our comunity are drug related. Let the police do their job. The law is broken when these kids possess drugs at school that are not prescribed to them. As I see it the Principal is obstructing the law and is aiding and abetting these kids. Set an example and the word will get out that we really do have a zero tolerance not just a bunch of bull Sh**. Mean what you say and enforce ig.

Disband the Village Police if they refuse to do their jobs or if it is the Principal than get rid of him.

Please do tell what does the Principal Michael Gallagher do with the confiscated pot that he takes from students? I believe that the police should be called, let them do their jobs.

The principals at the high school have boxes of bong and drug aiding devices to take drugs. They box them up and put them in the basement of the high school. As for the drugs, well lets guess what happens to anything with street value????? I doubt they are having a garage sale, but perhaps a black market sale. The drug problem is so big the FBI should be called, and every single village cop fired, including the captain. Some of the village officials have their very own kids taking drugs...of course there is a cover-up. Something drastic will have to happen before anything is done. Crawford is the incompetant fool who did nothing......except harass teachers and staff for talking about it. What do you expect from a guy who has his nose in the jack daniels bottle.....I heard he was drunk with the former BOE meeting the whole time they were on the taxpayer dime in Rwanda.....hard core drinking compiments of the taxpayer. Of course he cover ups drugs. Check out west seneca.

Curiouw, w
where do the drugs go once the principals seize them from the students? I agree let the authorities do their jobs, the school should not interfere.
