"Dear Concerned, Please publish the following that all staff received via email at their school accounts. Thank you,
"A kinder gentler Steven Achramovitch wrote the attached letter. While reading this letter an overwhelming sense of insincerity oozed throughout my body. I, and others, are not entirely sure which planet Mr. Achramovitch is living on, but he is not operating in reality. The teachers and staff of Hamburg are going back to a school year which has already been tainted by unbelievable district actions, like the lawsuits against our colleagues (present and former) and a school board member, which the Hamburg Teachers Association endorsed. Dr. Calkins letter to the entire community took us to a new low. We, the teachers and staff, are facing burgeoning class sizes, some of us still don't know how many children are in our classes. We have learned that many of the buildings have removed photocopiers, so last minute enhancements to our lessons will be impossible to do without the use of a copier. Meanwhile, while all these cuts are being made, our superintendent and board president are spending taxpayer dollars with lawyers. Dr. Calkins was quoted as saying the lawsuit has only cost $5,000 so far. That, Dr. Calkins is the price of our copies! It is difficult not to read the insincerity in this letter from "Steve", because his actions contradict the words on the paper. I have been teaching in this district for over two decades, and we are at the lowest point with little hope of reviving unless this man and his phony letters to staff take his business elsewhere. There are very few teachers who are excited to return, and having spoken to many newly retired staff, they are not looking back. Keep your coffee and refreshments, and give us the tools we need to be successful. First on that list, a superintendent and board of education that remove their personal agendas from the picture and spend our finances on the kids not on their own "financial gain".
