Hamburg School District Addresses APPR

An anonymous writer posted a letter front and center on the Hamburg School District webpage.

Strangely, the notice published on the district webpage does not have a signature nor an author stated.  Rather, it misleadingly states, "The District". What a peculiar approach to addressing the breakdown in negotiations, which has garnered national media attention.  "The District" is made up of many actors- students, teachers, staff, administration and the Board of Education.

The negotiations were between the HTA and Steven Achramovitch.

So perhaps in the spirit of accuracy, the author of the "District memo" ought revise the correspondence, and accurately state the facts of the matter.  Perhaps, legal counsel advised to neutralize the matter by removing the polarizing name, Steven Achramovitch.  By now we are all aware of Mr. Achramovitch's penchant for Harris Beach duos.

The facts show, members of the HTA voted loudly in unison of their collective mistrust of Steven Achramovitch thereby calling a spade a spade.

Oddly, the correspondence is a departure from others, readers may recall Board of Education President Dr. Joan Calkins had no trouble lashing out inaccuracies and barbs in many of her front and center pieces on the district web page.

Dr. Calkins, where is your letter on the district web page?
Perhaps you need to address the threats made to jobs by Colleen Kaney, or your remarks made about 5-10 teacher cuts at last Fridays Board Meeting, as was reported by Hamburg Watch Dog.   Dr.Calkins why don't you address the staff's mistrust of Steve Achramovitch. It is a black and white issue. Don Ogilve was told how the staff feels, so perhaps Joan you need to put pen to paper and write one of your letters to the citizens of Hamburg.

Why is anything different now, Joan?
Joan did it ever occur to you that perhaps the issues that have happened since September 2010 show a positive correlation with the arrival of Steven Achramovitch in Hamburg?

Joan and Steve and the bobble head Bored of Education have you not damaged Hamburg Central Schools enough?

change now please said...

Joan Calkins is a fool to continue to support this pathetic pathological liar Supt.

Donald Ogilvie has been told loud and clear how this was much about Steve Achramovitch. We are aware if Erie One Boces Mr. Ogilvie does nothing he as as good as Steve Achramovitch and that is not good.

Lies more lies, dirty tricks, deception, sly, all adjectives to describe him. Not just here but in his last two positions as Supt. Greece and Ken/Ton, left in a cloud of dust. Both districs finally had enough and canned him

I just read the District Statement on the school's web site, and just like the other Caulkins statements on that site, I believe it contains an error. First of all, why would the $450,000 be subtracted from the aid due the district in March? This $450,000 is bonus aid, in addition to the regular aid (which may go down for a number of reasons, ie: declining enrollment). But Hamburg is not LOSING $450,000, it's just not GAINING the EXTRA $450,000. Admittedly, it certainly would have helped pay the Harris Beach bill, or Energy Education, or Boces...

Isn't it time to start anew? Get rid of Steve, and start getting this district back on track.
