The break down in the APPR negotiations between the Hamburg Teachers and Superintendent Achramovitch brought to the surface none other than Erie One Boces District Superintendent, and Hamburg Central School District resident, Donald "Oz" Ogilve.
Hamburg Teachers were contacted by Oz today and asked to continue discussions on the failed APPR negotiations. As reported by Concerned, Hamburg Central School District administrators made threats to School Counselors in an attempt to intimidate them into voting YES on APPR. This violated the Taylor Law, and is unacceptable to the teachers and staff of Hamburg Schools. It appears that S. Achramovitch's tactics of threatening teachers was cause for Erie One Boces Superintendent to emerge from behind the curtain. Mr. Ogilve is apparently concerned about the image of sleepy little Hamburg Central Schools which he has been running from behind the curtain for many years. Ogilve brought Hamburg Central Schools the likes of Mark Crawford who ran out of town in the face of mounting legal action against the district due to district malfeasance and ruthless decision-making. Crawford's departure was cause for a search for a new superintendent lead by Donald Ogilve. The recruitment of Steve Achramovitch broke every single ethical norm of hiring the most qualified person for the job. Ogilve recommended Achramovitch even though he applied late, and lied during the interim phase of his superintendency.
So, Don emerged from behind the curtain to come into Hamburg in an attempt to negotiate with the Hamburg Teachers.
Don, it is our understanding, you are wasting your time. Teachers are upset, angry and have no confidence in Steve Achramovitch.
Concerned has learned that the #1 reason the teachers said NO to APPR was because of their lack of confidence in Steve Achramovitch.
Bravo to Hamburg Teachers for saying NO.
