Illegal * Bored of Education meeting scheduled- less than 24 hours advanced notice given to the public.

The APPR vote passed 220 "Yes" votes, to 51 "No" votes.

The Hamburg Bored of Education has called a meeting for Friday, April 19th at 7:30 a.m. at the Hamburg Administration Bldg.

It is the opinion of Concerned Hamburger, that the Hamburg School Bored and the superintendent have failed to meet NYS Open Meeting Law requirements.

The BOE meeting called for Friday April 19, 2013 at 7:30 a.m.  was not given 24 hours advanced notice.

The notice of this meeting was given only after the teachers voted to approve APPR- at 5 p.m. April 18, 2013.

24 hours was not given and therefore any action of the BOE can be challenged in NYS Supreme Court for failure to provide proper notice of a public meeting.

Yes Joan, School Bored Meetings are public meetings.

Any action taken by the boars on the Bored of Education can be challenged by an Article 78 action in NYS Supreme Court.

Rude to parents, we are upset at the way the supt and school district is treating our children Our children are being punished for my decision to opt out of testing. More parents need to spread the word on the horrendous treatment of our children. Mixed messages from Pricipal and a different one from the Supt. We are sick of this supt and his lack of concern for others especially our children. PARENTS

I am new to this web site, friend gave it to me as I expressed my frustration to her. Here it goes, my son did not take the state assessment tests. I opted out for him. The Principal at his school told us op out parents that our children could come in late after testing each of the 3 days and that would be it. Now we hear a different tune coming from what we are told the superintendant and president of school district. Our son is going to be forced to take the make up tests. We have no options as parents. My friend who is very active has advised us of our rights and needing a lawyer for all of us parents. We are being bullied by the school district, not the teacher or the principal, but the other two mentioned. I have lost sleep at the thought of how our children are being punished for our decisions. How has this come down to this? We have no rights as parents. These tests are bad for our son and it is doing harm to him. I am sorry that this superintendant and this Dr. care so little about our rights and opinions. Please this bullying has to stop. We have been given so many different stories from people who should have their act together.

Yet another example of the the Achrofiend seeking revenge on those who refuse to engage in his insidious games. Children are cast as pariahs and exploited as vehicles to punish those parents deemed to be recalcitrant.

Give it up.
Appr with all of its pre-testing is here to stay.

Joan and Steve have a big Victory and are here to stay. Another loss for the blog.

Testing may be here to stay but you will see more of us parents opting out of testing, we are not here for a win but what is right for our children. we express ourselves here and let me let you know that we are spreading the word on the heartless attitudes of the school district officials with the exception of a few

Dr. Calkins leads Steve or Steve leads Dr. Calkins either way they need to go. Since Joan supports him we need to vote for change. Morale at a low. Need new sb members.

My kids made examples of by the school district leaders. Dr Calkins not a care let the Supt. punish my kids for our decisions not to have them take state assessment tests. Labeling our children for life is what parents are setting their kids up for. A private testing company has all our childrens personel data. They could use that information for marketing, job placement, information for employment. Would it not be ashame if our son's or daughter's were denied employment or placement in a demanding educational program, because of tests taken in 3rd thru 8th grade. Be careful parents we are giving too much info to a private testing company PEARSON.

Is Joan Paranoid?

Any semblance of a victory by the androgynous Achralkins is an illusion. Heshe had virtually zero input in persuading change during the current proceedings nor should Heshe have had any voice in attempting to influence the vote.

In May the truth will out!
