As a teacher I will vote yes on this budget. I will also vote

NO for DR. Joan Calkins for school board. We will not support her.

A vote for Dr. Joan Calkins and Shiela Rhuland is a vote for a Supt Achramovitch.

285,000. bucks in one year for legal expenses. Where is my kid in 2 study halls. Voting no, money only going to lawyers so why vote yes.

Get rid of that SOB Steve Achramovitch and that snob Joan Calkins. Joan supports a woman out of touch. No educational experience never to a school board meeting nor budget hearing. Why is she running? A probation officer for school board Great for education NOT. At the debate she brings nothing to this school board but a rubber stamp for Joan and Steve. We need to go forward not backwards here. PROBATION OFFICER FOR SCHOOL BOARD. Please we need someone who understands education and makes the time to go to school board meetings & budget hearings. Steve Achramovitch

loves to charm women and mold them. No to Rhuland and Calkins

I never put my politics on my front lawn. I have three signs on my lawn as of this am, they are for

Laura Heeter, David Yovine and Catherine Forcucci

$500 K for starters to a law firm for what? Going after private citizens for writing on a blog or running a blog. Should we be spending this on kids or lawyers? This is why I am a new lawn advertizer. I don't know how I will vote on this budget, leaning towards no, but don't want it affect my kids. Go Laura, Dave and Catherine.

According the to Buff News, Tom Flynn, says it's because a law was broken. Not True. If any law was broken, it would be a criminal matter. Because no charges apply, the matter was dismissed. A civil suit, which this is, is done because your feelings were hurt.
That's what this is about. The boe was caught behaving like fools and they're embarrassed. So they will spend, spend, spend in order to deflect. Meanwhile, the schools and students are tanking.

Here's a lesson: When you are in a hole, STOP DIGGING!

Vote yes on budget. Vote no on Joan.

So Joan wants the tax payers to believe that they have only spent $10,000 dollars on the lawsuit over the past 3 years. But yet the 3 Bloggers spent $5,000 to squelch one subpoena. Your Not fooling anyone with your lies Joan !!!!

"Anyone who's involved in an executive session meeting, whether it's a school board or town board, has the expectation of privacy," says Flynn. I guess the "sanctity of Executive session " of a public elected Board Trumps the Constitutional Rights of an American Citizen’s.. The same citizen's who elected them to public office.

Voting yes on the budget simply gives the boe a blank check to spend even more on lawyers. Taxpayers, YOU control this. If the budget does not pass, the lawyers don't get paid and the public must force them to drop the suit. Then, with new boe members on the board, they will put the budget up again. If you think that by voting yes on the budget means the money goes to the schools, kids and teachers, you do not know how it works in NYS. You vote on whether they can spend the money, not on "how."

just wondering were I can find this famous video of the Hamburg School Board Executive Session?

Klozman said...

A BOE executive session seems little more than a Star Chamber where lies are told and plans hatched to destroy the lives of people who are bucking the administration. I doubt that anything of legitimate substance is produced on any sort of regular basis.

If one person in attendance at the "taped" meeting can demonstrate that any one of those accused knew the location and time of said meeting in advance, which is an essential proof, it would be far more convincing than the flimsy "evidence" currently espoused.

Somebody should file a Freedom of Information Act against the district to get the actual dollar figures spent on attorney fees.

Watched the news unbelieveable. Wasting taxpayers money on this.
My neighbor a high school teacher tells us the bill is over
200 thousand dollars .

All our kids graduated from here, and we don't mind supporting education, but this is not what we want our tax dollars spent on. My wife and I will be voting no for the first time on this budget. We are on a fixed income and education we support not this legal spending.

I am sick of what is going for our new sb member. I am beginning to believe that that law firm on sp is behind some of this.
A quarter of a million dollars.

Concerned not just a no vote on the budget but the biggest supporter of this inept Supt. and his legal expertise is such bull. Joan Calkins & Steve Achramovitch need to go and this budget may be turned down for the waste that is going on with this school board. Suing because their feeling are hurt.

Steve Achramovitch tape executive meeting? said...

Unusual suspects,

we have heard that the taper caper Steven Achramovitch owns it and he is spending our money to protect himself. He was suspect of taping executive meeting in Greece. Rochester news reported in
"the bakers dozen" Steve was one of a dozen in that room. Rochester paper placed a cloud over him.

Achramovitch also went after identy of a blog in Rochester SCATS but didn't get anywhere. He is good at spending other peoples hard earned taxes.

Constant theme in all of Steve achramo's school districts.

Legal trouble follows him and so do blogs, not faulting Concerned. Concerned has opened up this district from behind the curtain. We had a mess a few years ago under Ed O. and Roswell.( State Comptrollers scathing audit). We still own back 1.3 million of the 1.8 million. back to NY State. Just look at what we don't have anymore in the classrooms.

ANDREW FLEMING......LIES, LIES and MORE LIES. IF THE COMMUNITY ONLY KNEW, AND NOW RUHLAND THE PROBATION OFFICIER IS INVOLVED...all so rich....

Anonymous said...

Joan Calkins is anti student to her core. Will not give our elementary kids equilivent to one more month of education per year. Stopped the district from
exploring it again.

To anonymous 10:18 pm they probably are connected. This runs deep in this district. You would be shocked what was going on behind the scenes. Our district has become a victim to a cover up. Problem if they didn't make certain request of supt or former supt this district wouldn't be in this entanglement for certain people. Legal fees more than $750,000 bucks since Steve Achramovitch arrived. All will come out from behind the curtain. We are patiently waiting and watching.

please everyone do your part said...

MESSAGE TO ALL TEACHERS AND DISTRICT PERSONNEL;
REMEMBER THE FEAR THAT STEVE ACHRAMOVITCH AND HIS BENEFACTOR JOAN CALKINS MD HAS UNLEASHED HERE IN HAMBURG. THREATS TO OUR FRIENDS DURING APPR IN JANUARY THIS WAS STEVE'S DOING HE CALLS ALL THE SHOTS HERE.

We are in desperate need to rid Steve.

Please everyone do your part and vote Joan off the school board. Contact all friends. Joan called for the repeal of tribourgh amendment which would be the end of all public service employee unions. We would cease to exist every union in our district. Joan and Steve blame employees for all the financial wows of the school. How about Joan & Steve's reckless legal spending. We have heard almost 1 million. Sounds creepy for a guy with legal expertise. What a blow hard Steve .

Please everyone bring your friends out and family. Please support our candidates. Laura, David and Catherine.

Big "Dog" said...

Ok everyone, let me help you with this one. Achramo and Joan told you a little tale that they have only spent $10,000 on the lawsuit regarding the alleged illegal taping, this is a lie. Long before the lawsuit was initiated in the summer of 2012, Achramo and Joan and gang began their legal witch hunt. They began their legal witch hunt over a year before the summer of 2012. They had an order to show cause proceeding, depositions, documents etc. all at the expense of the taxpayers in order to try to find out who made the tape. They dragged all three of the defendants in for depositions, their expensive attorneys questioned them and came up with nothing. All of these proceedings took place BEFORE the lawsuit was commenced. So, slippery Achramo is citing the amount of money he and Joan have spent since officially commencing the lawsuit in the summer of 2012, but that figure of $10,000 is misleading. Don't be fooled by Achramo. If you add up how much was spent PRIOR to the lawsuit was commenced and AFTER the lawsuit was commenced you will have the true cost. Achramo's budgetary transfers may not be transparent, but his shady deals and lies are always transparent to "the big dog".

a teacher who knows said...

I beg the readers of this blog to vote YES on the budget and, if they want to see a change in how their hard-earned dollars are spent, vote for a change of Board MEMBERS. I also would beg Concerned Hamburger to take down that recommendation of voting NO on the budget. This current crew of bad leaders will not have the guts to bother with a second budget vote and will instead adopt a contingency budget...slashing EVERYTHING. If you think your kid is in too many study halls now or there's not enough chairs in a room at HHS or HMS...if you're upset about 25 kids in a classroom at the elementary level...just wait until you see what a NO vote brings! A vote of NO on any school budget is bad for kids, EVERY time. VOTE YES ON THE BUDGET!

I have been extensively reading past blog entries since the recent news coverage of first amendment violations. I can see that this blog is biased but not without good reason. Considering Superintendent Achramovitch's past failures in the KenTon and Greece school systems it appears that he was hired here in spite of his history as a dismal disappointment. Why???

The intimidation and fear must be eliminated. Obviously that starts at the top. While these selfish grown ups play their power games the children are getting left behind. I don't live in the district but I certainly support the endeavor of shaking up the board.

Anonymous said...

Concerned we need to support this budget, but need to get the NO VOTE FOR DR JOAN CALKINS she has to go and Steve should follow. We need to approve this budget but not Joan or Ruhland never to school board meeting or budget hearing.

DISTRICT EMPLOYEES, please get at least 10 of your friends to go to vote, they don't have to be registered just show up with drivers license. Please support David Yovine
Laura Heeter
Catherine Schrauf Foccucci

Our morale is low because of Dr. Joan Calkins and Steven Achramovitch, we need change.

Friend from Greece said...

Steves last budget in GCSD ended with a budget that failed miserably. Look into Steves past in Greece, lawsuits with major payouts. Firing of administrators due to "whistleblowing", unfavorable decisions from the Commisioner of Education, unfavorable rulings from Robert Freeman due to violations of open meetings laws. Attempts at silencing public speakers because of living outside district (a prior 30 year Greece administrator). Millions paid to consultants and attorneys. You have your hands full Hamburg. I think you guys in Hamburg have us beat. Subpoenias to google? Civil lawsuits with taxpayer dollars? I might not belive it if I didnt know Steve myself. He divides boards and charms the ladies into getting whatever he wants including contract extensions and pay increases. Good luck trying to rid yourselves of him.

Dave said...

You should certainly not urge people to vote no on the budget it your real goal is to support children. If the budget gets voted down, do you think they will make cuts to the money spent on legal fees? Of course not! If the budget is voted down, the district will need to make more drastic cuts to ensure that the budget stays the same as last years. That means cuts to programs, less classes offered, teacher layoffs, and larger class sizes. If you really want the best for your children, you should always vote YES to the budget and try to make your changes through your vote for board members.

Voting No on the budget will do nothing but harm the children and programming. The key here is to change the leadership who is spending our money freely.
