These changes have not gone over well in New York State.
|New York State Commissioner King knew the tests were flawed before they were administered to the students.|
The Hamburg Community must speak up on this nonsensical issue. Parents and the Board of Education must prepare a joint statement and send a loud message to Commissioner King that corporate education is not welcome in Hamburg, New York. The community must be prepared to take a stand before it is too late to turn back. Teachers are becoming increasingly fearful to speak up because of possible backlash from school administrators who "take care"of vocal teachers by filing Part 83 charges with the Commissioner. No doubt, the Commissioner is interested in teachers who buck the system he is jamming down their throats and stand up for what is right for the education of children.
It is time for the Hamburg Community to take a stand, and join fellow New Yorkers from Poughkeepsie and push back the Common Core and standardized testing.
