Concerned Hamburger was notified that the New York State Comptroller, Office of Local Government has told the Hamburg Central School District Acting as Superintendent Rick Jetter that they are coming to Hamburg to do an audit.
The last time the Office of the State Comptroller visited Hamburg in 2008, the District got a slap on the hands for misusing funds, inappropriately transferring large sums of money between the District and the Hamburg School Foundation, and the the Board of Education was chastised for ignoring the District's code of ethics. Just before the Comptroller finished the audit, then Superintendent Peter Roswell resigned, and the Board of Education was tuned upside down with some old time cronies, like Ed Osbourne and Eileen Rucker running for cover. So, perhaps the abrupt departure of Mr. Achramovitch earlier this year had little to do with the new Board of Education and more to do with the State audit. Concerned Hamburger has also learned that the NYS Comptroller has been at the Hamburg Central Office since the Spring 2013 poking around the employment record of a certain employee who retired after almost 4 decades of service to the district, only to still be working and collecting a pay check. Questions are swirling around the Administration building and it has been reported that at least one person in the central office is afraid that they are gonna get bust for not sending out request for proposals (RFPs).
Concerned Hamburger wonders if the Comptroller will be looking at some very peculiar practices of the past several years. Surely, Comptroller DiNapoli, who is revered across NYS as a no nonsense bean counter, will raise an eyebrow at the district's use of taxpayer dollars to fund a frivolous lawsuit in the never ending personal vendetta of former Board President Joan Calkins.
And let us not forget that attack on the Constitutional rights of Concerned Hamburger, Super and Klozman. Taxpayer dollars have been squandered and its time for New York State to come in an pry open the books and see what has really been going on.
|No Joan, you can not use taxpayer dollars to sue private citizens for your own personal gain. |
Are you stupid?
