Commissioner King in Buffalo 12-12-13

New York Education Commissioner John King Jr. is due in Buffalo for the latest in a series of forums on the Common Core, teacher evaluations and other reforms.
Thursday's forum with King and Regents Robert Bennett is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at WNED-TV, which will broadcast the hour-long session live.  Erie One BOCES Superintendent Ogilve is a former Trustee of WNED, and it was stated he had a hand in selecting venue.

In the audience will be members of the District Parent Coordinating Council and representatives from area school districts. Members of the general public, chosen by lottery (how democratic), will fill any remaining seats.
WNED STUDIO= SMALL

So, instead of having the event in a larger forum, WNED was selected due to its limited size and inherent ability to control the crowd.  Why not have this event at larger facility, like any of the music halls or sporting arenas around Buffalo?   Perhaps the education brass in NYS prefer small.

KLEINHANS MUSIC HALL=BIG

So Hamburg Community members, here is your chance to speak out on educational issues.   Concerned Hamburger hopes to learn Hamburg grass roots activists, like Mr. Ed Piazza and his merry band of local attorneys, will be leading the Hamburg charge to get the ear of Mr. King and Regent Bennett. (Don's ear is already all theirs)   So don your blue parkas and get to WNED*  studios at the  foot of the Skyway and speak loudly and clearly against the destruction of public education in New York State.

King has been traveling the state defending his department's implementation of more rigorous learning standards and assessments, saying they're necessary to prepare students for college and careers.

*And while at the studios of our great local public broadcasting radio and television stations, WNED,  please remember  that if you like this program, you will like it more as a member, and consider buying a membership to WNED- democracy depends it.

Reality Check: Control,

if not then why the small venue? Lottery only 2 from each district. We have many in Hamburg and not teachers who would like a shot at that meeting, unfortunately we have been undemocratically shut out. The powerful speakers with a tremendous amount of information stand a slim chance of addressing the seriousness of this wild plan of APPR. We would fill Kleinhan's Music Hall and they are aware of it and pretend it is the democratic way. This is BIG FOR EDUCATION. This is our kids future and it deserves to have anyone who has objections or support of this program the opportunity to address the serious issue of APPR. Our teachers, principals could all become targets of a destructive administration, our children are under tremendous pressure, especially our children who struggle. Teachers & Principals feel the pressure and our kids with special needs have additional issues. Us op out parents are not going away, and our numbers are growing.

Commish King: Public Meeting, Soviet Style. Really- what the hell is wrong with Public Education in WNY? What are they afraid of, THE TRUTH. A CONTROLLED SCRIPTED MEETING- gee, what else is new ?

Here is an idea- take people who are experts in their fields like the two master scientists who were awarded in Hamburg- people who know their subjects and professionally develop them. Stop this crazy, "school of education" crap! Lets get real. And the school day is TOO short. Hamburg has the shortest Elementary Day in The USA. MAKE THE DAY LONGER AND HIRE TEACHER EXPERTS.

Where is Jean Tribuzzi and the Lucy Caulkins plan? How much did these people get from Hamburg?

“This sentencing sends another strong message that we will pursue the wrongdoing of individuals who abuse their position for personal gain,” DiNapoli said. “I’m grateful for the efforts of the New York State Police and Franklin County District Attorney Derek P. Champagne’s office to bring this person to justice.”

Looks like the LGBT community will be out in full force in Hamburg. The bigotry will only be tolerated for so long. The LGBT community is awake, and ready to parade up and down So. Park Ave. Keep it up.

Who's gay? Isn't this about corruption, election fraud, illegal tapings, harrassment of students, staff, parents, community members, poor job performance, nuisance lawsuits, conflict of interest, misconduct, code of ethics violations, and more nefarious actions? Maybe the LGBT Community will realize they are being used, just sayin'

nefarious = judicial ethics are all over that= ya know, those grassroots actions. nefarious= yep, good word. well said.
