BREAKING NEWS from WKBW

According to WKBW Channel 7 at noon, the Erie County District Attorney's office is picking up the case of the beleaguered  Hamburg School Superintendent Richard Jetter.    More news on this will be forthcoming.  The matter is being moved from the Hamburg Village to the District Attorney's office.

Wow, it looks like Doctor Jetter is getting into some deeper trouble.

Wonder who else in the district is gonna go down on this. Hope they talk to James Martinez about what he might know. Does anyone know if he was around with the car damage?

He most certainly was.

Things are happening, I know they are. Jetter is in trouble and he is going to have to talk about who was with him. Hes going to have to say who else covered this up...

what a mess

Jetter is already saying. When he went to the Hamburg police, he didn't need to say anything about who he was with. He could have just taken responsibility for the incident himself, but instead, he immediately called another person into it, citing that person's title, and the fact they were drinking. When he gets out and has to face the reality of what he's done, and the criminal implications, he'll give everybody up.

The boe can go on with their hearings against Forcucci, but I guarantee they will lose. I'm sure hearing officer Hoover is already having trouble keeping a straight face as he listens to all the complaints about her "behavior," and that she yells at people, and isn't nice, and refuses to vote like us, and what were those "charges" again?

Aside from staff who knew about the vandalism-that-wasn't, I think any boe members who knew about the witness to the real story, yet still proceeded to stick to the vandal story could be in trouble with the DA. I cannot believe that Freedman got that letter from Forcucci's attorney a month ago and neglected to share it with the board pres? Would that be a conspiracy to obstruct justice? If they didn't believe there was a witness then why didn't they hire their own investigator to talk to the witness, too, and learn the truth?

You'd think, as political animals, the board members would understand that the community is tired of these embarrassing antics and that the Jetter mess gives them the perfect opportunity it end the Forcucci without losing face. But they don't appear to be smart enough to take this opportunity.

I think the central question here is why the Piazzas and their faction are so intent on demanding that these bush league hearings continue despite the mess the district now finds itself in. The incivility allegations against Forcucci are laughably minor league when compared to what Jetter has allegedly done--falsely claimed vandalism in an attempt to turn the community against Forcucci, totally mislead those hundreds of good people who came to that rally in support of him, whatever the District Attorney is now investigating, etc.

Why can't Piazza and Yoviene set aside their obsession with Forcucci for the good of the people they represent? The community doesn't want to be embarrassed any longer by the partisanship of the board. It's bad enough that this Jetter situation will probably keep the bad press coming for months. Why would Piazza and Yoviene want to double down on the ridicule this great community has been receiving because of these ludicrous hearings?

Right now is the perfect time to step away from the madness, end these political hearings, and focus on much more important things, like working together to find a seriously topnotch superintendent. But does anyone on this board understand the opportunity they've been given?

... because this board is UNABLE to work together. It's that simple and the Jetter scandal will actually make it worse because of Catherine and Sally's righteous platform (Jetter's wrongs made us right). We're not buying it!

The OUT clause. There is a built-in "out clause" for every board member. You don't need to turn to expensive hearings, lawsuits or petitions to get rid of them. At the end of their term, simply do not vote for them It's that simple and far less expensive. Perhaps Hamburg should consider a referendum this May that would shorten board member terms.

There is a school district near Albany in Ravena, NY who had more than a few crazy board members. One was charged with assaulting the father of another board member. Another refused to pay his school taxes claiming he was a "sovereign citizen." There were problems with election fraud. Despite petitions, lawsuits, 310 appeals and such, they could not get either of those two thrown off the board. State Ed will NOT undo an election. Hamburg, you are stuck with everyone until their terms are up. Use your votes wisely and stop wasting taxpayer money on lawyers, hearing and this garbage.

Can anyone find one instance in the last decade where state ed removed a board member? Ever? If you find it, please post.

@6:54
Because at that point they had no reason to disbelieve the weasel.

@ 10:35. Sure they did, and on paper. They had a letter from Forcucci's lawyer telling them so. If they didn't believe the letter, they at least had an obligation to "try" to confirm the truthfulness of the letter.

But maybe it's better this way. If they had bothered to talk to the witness a month ago, they would have stopped the Forcucci hearings, and Jetter would still be superintendent and in charge of a $60 million budget.

As a board member from another district I can only say the thought of other board members doing this to one of their own is disturbing. Why the community has stood by and watched is concerning. It's a volunteer elected position. If they all got along and agreed they would have even numbers. You are suppose to debate, and disagree, and ask questions. Hamburg please know that other boards are watching you, and are ashamed. If misconduct charges were brought against any board member who raised their voice, stormed out, and had fits there would be NO board members anywhere. Stop this now...its shameful!

"If misconduct charges were brought against any board member who raised their voice, stormed out, and had fits there would be NO board members anywhere."

I strongly disagree. Why is storming out and having fits appropriate? Whether its a classroom or a board room, This type of communication and behavior is unacceptable. Disagree!!!-- Debate!!--Ask questions!!! Truth find!!!--Yes-But-- Delivery and professionalism matters. The unprofessional communication described above-- Absolutely not acceptable!

8.56. The only one who stormed out of a meeting was tom Flynn because for forcucci asked for a audit in sept 2013 - check the district video- oh wait jetter cleansed that part. Check this blog out- and the news. So kick Flynn off- you hamburg people are hypocrites and frankly stupid. Wake up- the rest of wny is seeing you for the phony community you are. What about the drug problems ???? Wake up hamburg- your schools have been a place for bad behavior and crime long before Sally and Catherine. Check out the career of Ed osbourne Pete Roswell the hamburg foundation and all the missing money. White males at their finest. Sick sick community.

Sally and Catherine need to go and add Chucky, Martha and Holly from behind the scenes and Hamburg will return to it's glory. These issues were started by none other than the above mentioned. They go away and Hamburg is awesome again! Do not blame any older Administrators who gave their lives (some of them) to this school district. But to have to deal with Sally and Catherine and all the rest is almost immposible. How can anyone get their job done without interference from these people? Hamburg is great, the problem are these few people seeking revenge, face it!!!

they didn't give their lives to Hamburg School Community they were paid extremely well with win for life pensions. Get a grip The lack of accountability of Ed Osborne's tenure as school board president is not an opinion but a fact. Discovered by the NYS Comptroller's audit. Reminder the good boys club hates exposure. They want all the secrets kept down and low. Catherine too honest for the likes of them.

Change is needed...if anything, this has made the community aware of the depth of scandal in our school district and the good old boys' club..the cost to taxpayers due to so many school board members constant "yes" so their kids get the perks and scholarships instead of actually engaging in stopping the highest paid administrative salaries and increased students in a class...
