Question: What will 1/4 of a million get you in Hamburg?

Answer: A bakers dozen at Hodgson Russ.

Legal spending by the Hamburg School Board is far worse than in earlier reports.

Remember readers, these are the invoices through July.  August, September and the rest of the year are still not known by the public.  Hopefully, Buffalo News reporter Barb O'Brien will keep at it, and continue to reveal these wild expenses to the public.

As of the end of July the school board, "client representatives" and Hamburg staff have jacked up over 1/4 million dollars in legal fees.

See Buffalo News link:  School District Spends over 1/4 million dollars in 7 months

What would you do with 1/4 million bucks if you had to run a school district?

What's the $4,500 paid for "forensic analysis of MK computer" in July? Who is MK and what is this about?

Why is Mr. Yoviene moaning about the hefty legal bills, yet doing nothing at all to shut down the money pipeline to the attorneys?

Is this some type of bizarre wealth transfer experiment where the school board finds ways to send Hamburg tax dollars to already rich attorneys?

Why are the board members so willing to pump cash into attorneys' pockets and so unwilling to fund important kids' activities that cost far, far less than what has been handed over to attorneys thus far?

And this isn't just Dave Yoviene's doing. Sure, he's highly responsible because these terrible excesses have occurred on his watch. But Heeter and Brunner and Hall and Flynn are right there, able to right this sinking ship if they wish, but they choose to ignore the kids and spew Hamburg taxpayers' money all over a law firm.

Why? Why would anyone ever want to spend so much money on lawyers while the kids go begging?

Ummmmm ...... Maybe some of the money comes back to them. Ya think????? Absolutely nothing else makes sense, and of course the world is FULL of dumbasses with a strong desire to feel part of a (community) group or want to feel accepted or just plain like puffy sleeveless vests and Joan Calkins who will help out without asking a single important question.

It really doesn't matter what any of us thinks or says. It does not matter what Dave Y, Heeter, Collins, Stephenson, Forcucci or any of the rest of them says. It only matters how they vote. So far, I have seen the majority vote for things that are costing our district and our kids and incredible amount of money. What really burns me however, is that the boe got on their high horse and spent that kind of money to remove Forcucci (which the commissioner will overturn anyway) for what exactly? being rude and obstinant? for which she publicly apologized and promised to learn from her mistakes, but refused to hold Jetter to the same level of accountability. Here's the thing. Forcucci is ALLOWED to disagree with the rest of the board. That's why every boe member gets to have their own vote to cast. The problem now: Forcucci was right about so many things and the majority members were incredibly wrong about so many things. When you're in a hole, what are you supposed to do? Stop digging!

We need to tell students about this matter! They want to know about things too!
